HHIB Transformers operational in a 110/10(20) kV Ilirida substation

„ Kosovo: Kosovo’s transmission system operator (TSO) KOSTT has completed works on the 110/10/20) kV Ilirida substation with 110 kV underground transmission lines, according to a press release from KOSTT.

The Ilirida substation has been built as part of a $6.1 M (EUR 5.4 M) project implemented in three lots.

The contractors were Consortium ABB Italy and ABB d.o.o. Croatia; Consortium Hyundai Heavy Industry (Bulgaria), Balkan Petrol Energy (Kosovo) and Romelectro (Romania), as well as AF Consult (Switzerland) as a consultancy firm, according to the press release.

The Ilirida substation is expected to improve the security and quality of electricity supply in Mitrovica and other parts of Kosovo. So far, Mitrovica has been supplied by an old and unreliable substation, which is an asset of the Trepca complex, said KOSTT CEO Ilir Shala.

The substation is also expected to help reduce power transmission and distribution losses.

Previously, Kosovo’s distribution system operator (DSO) KEDS completed two new power lines for electricity supply in Mitrovica upon connection to the new KOSTT Ilirida substation and the Shupkovc substation.”
